Up-date

Well, I’ve failed in keeping up on the things that have been happening. I used to be so good at writing something at least once a week, even if it was only a short paragraph or a few sentences.

To start out, orchestra is pretty much over for this semester. I have two more days’ worth of performances still to go, but other than that I’m done for this semester.

We had our annual Christmas concert on Saturday. It went really well, considering that it was 3-4 hours long. The reason for its length was that we had 19 different groups performing. All of the orchestras, bands, guitar classes/ensembles, praise and worship band, choirs, flute classes, and our Christmas finally, our two excerpts from Handel’s Messiah.

School has been going very well. In my writing, I started the actual writing part two weeks ago. This week I’m starting the third chapter. Each week in addition to watching the video lesson and reading the extra lesson material I write one chapter in rough draft form. It’s harder than I thought it would be in some ways. I still have some of chapter two to write as well as chapter three this week. I really need to get to it to get it done.

This Friday ‘The Voyage of the Dawn Treader’ comes out. I am soooooo excited.

This Saturday, my sister and I are taking the ACT. I’m kind of nervous, yet I’m not. I really haven’t studied for it other than taking a couple practice sections for a couple of things. A friend of ours is also taking it with us.

Well, I think that is it for now.

Oh. This week and next are the last weeks of school that we are doing for this semester. I’m excited, yet not, for I won’t have to do anything. But then I’ll have to think of something to do, which can get very boring after a while.

Now, I think I’m done. I won’t promise to post anytime soon, for I know that it probably won’t happen.

My life as a Senior

Well, we’ve been at school for two and *almost* a half weeks now. So far I am liking my classes. I am taking American Government, American History, American Literature, Chemistry, Geometry, finishing up English Lit. from last year, a Beth Moore Bible study, the same type of Vocab. that I was doing last year yet it is the third book in the series, Grammar, and a really cool writing course.

My writing course is called “The One Year Adventure Novel” By Daniel Schwabauer. What you do, basically, is write a 12 chapter adventure novel, of your choosing, in two semesters. It is a really cool writing curriculum! I am really REALLY enjoying my time doing it. That is why I make myself do it after all of my other school work is done. :)

Orchestra is officially starting back up not this Friday but next. I can’t wait to start on all of my new music.

Yes, as the title of this post has stated, I am a Senior this year. My last year of High School. :( I’m not sure what I am going to do exactly after I graduate, we will just have to wait and see what God wants me to do.

Back to Normal

Well, summer is pretty much over. The Public and Christian schools have already started back up. We were suppose to start up last Monday but my mom wasn’t ready at that time.

The reason was that last week/weekend she went through the school room and went through all of her books and got rid of things that she has never used or won’t use anymore. Then she decided to paint the walls. After the paint dried she rearranged the entire room. So this past week/weekend she has been getting this coming week of school ready to start.

Orchestra is starting back up on Friday!!!! I am SOOOOOO exited!! I should have the same classes as last year. Except I don’t think that I will teach theory. Seeing as this is my last year, I want to take the choir theory class.

Summer Update

VBS is over and done with. It was very fun and seemed to go by faster that it has in the past. We did High Seas Expedition. I got to be a part of the skits which was so much fun to do. My character was based on Ginger from Gilligan’s Island. I was the mother of two kids. A boy named Gilligan and a girl named Skipper. Both based off of Gilligan’s Island characters. I had never heard of that show until VBS started.

Yesterday I babysat for our neighbors. It was a fun day. They have two girls and two boys.

I can’t believe how fast summer has flown by. In a couple of weeks school will start back up again. I am to be a senor this year so this will be my last year of being homeschooled. Last year in orchestra and choir as well.

At least with the school year starting back up means that the TV shows that I watch will start back up as well. The Mentalist, American Idol in the late winter and early spring months, and Survivor.

For my birthday I got a new laptop. The hard drive on my old one was finally not going to keep going on anymore. So the last post and this one have been from my new one. And as well as any new ones that come up. In my family we name pretty much everything that we get. Our instruments, some of our cooking pots and pans, and all of our desktops and laptops. So, my new on is called Skye. For she is a light blue silvery color.

Well, I think that is it for now. Hopefully I get back into the habit of posting regularly in the future. But I won’t be able to make that into an actual promise.

Catching up.

Hello everyone,

Yes, I am going to attempt to enter back into the blogging world. Much has happened since February.

We had our annual Federated music contest. All four of my classes got the highest ratings.

The End of the Year Concerts were both great. I enjoyed them greatly.

Two weeks ago my family and I went to Branson to stay a week at Big Ceader. My mom’s parents and her two sisters and their families all came as well. We older people relaxed on the lazy river while the younger ones swam in the pools and went on the water slide. On the last day we were there, we rented a pontoon boat and went tubing. I wasn’t brave enough to do it, but all of the other kids went.

VBS is coming up on the 12th. It has come up so fast. Yet it always seems to. This year we are doing “High Seas Adventures.” I really like the music.

Today is my 18th birthday. 18 years old. I’m old. We went to see Toy Story 3 this afternoon. The ending made me cry. There were funny parts as well. It has to be the best new movie I have seen in a while.

That’s it for now. Write later. Hopefully sooner than later. =)

Check-up on the post-surgery.

I just want everyone to know that I am doing fine with my post-surgery.

Yesterday, I went to orchestra. I felt like I was as I normally was/am. I was able to sing in both choirs without it causing any pain. But I was getting tired towards the end of the day. A little more than I would usually get. I didn’t have to teach my usual half-hour harp lesson, for they were obviously not there. Probably due to all the snow that we got this past week. So, I got to have an hour-long lunch break. Which was SO good to have! I needed that extra time to get myself back and kicking for the second part of my day.

I did go to lessons on Tuesday. I really needed to go somewhere. I also needed the music time that it brought.

Tatting was still on. I needed that as well.

I didn’t go to church on Sunday. Kara didn’t go either. I just wanted the extra day of rest and not having to work so hard to not be in lala land.

Last Friday, orchestra was canceled. I was excited when I heard that. I just thought to myself: “Now I won’t miss anything that happens!”

I think that is all for the moment. I’ll attempt to keep all of you updated.

Just as a side note, neither of us girls have gotten dry socket yet.

My Day With Having My Wisdom Teeth Taken Out

As most of you might already know, I got all four of my wisdom teeth cut out this morning.

I think I did really well. It was the first time that I had an IV, so that was a new experience. It only pinched a little, which I was prepared for. Since I have had experience giving horses shots, I had no big with the thought of being stuck myself. Now I can think about giving blood.

The whole ordeal was not as bad as I thought it would be. I thought that I would end up crying. But I didn't. I got to use an oxygen hose. Now I know how you feel Grandma. The little monitors, that they put on my chest and on my left rib cage, were kind of cold and sticky at first, but the feelings left and I got use to them. I also had a finger/heart monitor. It felt like I was in a hospital with my heart beat coming through as a beep, beep, beep. The poor nurse who was preparing me had a little bit of a hard time finding a vein for the IV. But she found a small one on the outside of my right elbow. Luckily I didn't have to have one in my hand. I have heard that they hurt like the dickens.

A few minutes after she left, the doc came in, gave me the pain meds, and I fell asleep like that. *snaps fingers* The next thing I knew, I was sitting in a different chair in a different room. The recovery room. After a few minutes there, Kara and I got helped into wheelchairs and were rolled out to the mini-van. We then made a stop at Wendy's and each of us girls got a chocolate frosty. Hahahahaha!!! I was a mess!!!!! I got it all over my shirt. A white one at that. I haven't seen it since I took it to my mom to have it cleaned.

This afternoon, I have had a small bowl of strawberry yogurt and I have a cup of water by my bed, my little bag of gross, a big roll of paper towels(I have been drooling like a maniac!!) and a wal-mart sack to put all of my gross thrash in. Other than that, having an ice pack on my face, and watching some Cosby show on the internet, I haven't been doing much.

Tomorrow Kara and I have a check up to see how the two of us are doing. But I think that we will be fine. I hope! *Fingers Crossed*

First Post of the New Year!!!

Well, here we are in a New Year. Which means to some a start to a new life.

Christmas went very well. I got the Pirates’ trilogy. A book of new knitting patterns, which I started in that day. I have finished one and am on my second one. But you have to realize that I go for days without even touching it. If I do, it can vary from working on it form 30 minutes to a few hours. All of us kids got a $14 music download gift card from Wal mart. Which I used to get the music from Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Us four older girls all got a $50 gift card to Maurices. We went and used them Saturday.

This is how my New Year started.

It ended up that we got three weeks off of school. We started officially back up last week.

Orchestra and choir and lessons all started back up and in full swing last week. We were supposed to have started back up with orchestra and choir two weeks ago, but we had lot of snow fall that week, so we didn’t go.

But we did get our new Federation pieces last Friday. All but one in Beethoven and one in Brahms.

That, I guess, has to be all of the new news that I can think of at the moment.
